Trip Introduction

Gosainkunda trek is the site for a great Hindu pilgrimage each August when thousands of sadhus (holy men) trek to the sacred lakes. This trek start from Dhunche we can enjoy with the stunning views of Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the Annapurna massif. During the trekking, we pass through the sub-tropical jungle. Hence, Langtang region is one of the most popular trekking regions for those wishing a short trek from Kathmandu into the Himalayas influenced by Tibetan lifestyle. Moreover, accompanying with the varieties of rhododendron, bamboo forests, majestic waterfalls and snow-capped we make the trek one of the most diverse treks nearby Kathmandu.

Day 01:Arrive in Kathmandu

Day 02:Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche (1,960 m) 6 hours.

Day 03:Dhunche to Sing Gompa (3,584 m) 5 hours

Day 04:Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda Lake (4380 m) 5-6- hours

Day 05:Gosaikunda Lake to Sing Gompa 5-6 hours

Day 06:Sing Gompa to Dhunche 5 hours

Day 07:Dhunche to Kathmandu 6 hours

Day 08:Final departure

Cost includes:

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 1
    Arrive in Kathmandu

    Upon your arrival at the Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Thai Nepal Travels. After picking up your luggage and look for our representative with a Thai Nepal Travels display board at the arrival gate. After that, you will be transferred to Hotel. After check-in, you can take a rest, hang around in the city - it all depends on your interests and condition. In the evening we will organize a "Welcome Dinner" at an excellent traditional Nepalese Restaurant where you will enjoy Nepalese cultural programs as well as a fine meal.

  • Day 2
    Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche (1,960 m) 6 hours.

    Today after breakfast you will start early drive journey to Dhunche; the starting point of the trek. The road is tricky because of the grubby road. During the travel, you will pass through many small villages on the way. We overnight in Dhunche.

  • Day 3
    Dhunche to Sing Gompa (3,584 m) 5 hours

    We can get to Sing Gompa from Syabrubesi or the Langtang trek, via Thulo Syabru. Today is a strenuous one, we climbing from Dhunche 1,960m to Sing Gompa 3,584m. We will walk through the forest of pine and rhododendron, after arrival, we will visit chess factory and temple in the village. We are overnight Sing Gompa

  • Day 4
    Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda Lake (4380 m) 5-6- hours

    After breakfast, our trail continues climbs to Chanlang Pati (3,550m) and climbs steeply to Laurebina Yak. The magnificent views include the Annapurnas, Manaslu the four peaks of the Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung. The trail continues on views of Saraswati Kund at 4,100m, the first of the Gosainkund lakes. The second lake is Bhairab Kund and the third is Gosainkunda itself. There are a shrine and numerous pilgrim shelters on the northwestern side of the lake. You can walk around the lake in an hour. We are overnight at Gosaikunda.

  • Day 5
    Gosaikunda Lake to Sing Gompa 5-6 hours

    Today we are walk long downhill to Sing Gompa. We have lunch at Chalang Pati and walk to through rhododendron forest back to Sing Gompa. We are overnight at Sing Gompa.

  • Day 6
    Sing Gompa to Dhunche 5 hours

    Leaving the mountains behind us our descent takes us to the Dhunche where the trek was starting about a week ago. We are overnight at Dhunche.

  • Day 7
    Dhunche to Kathmandu 6 hours

    After breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu from Dhunche which will take some 6 hours. We can take a rest or do some souvenir shopping. If we want to explore any other areas of Kathmandu, we may do that today. In the evening, there will be a farewell dinner hosted by Thai Nepal Travels to celebrate the successful completion of our trip. Overnight in Kathmandu.We are overnight at Kathmandu.

  • Day 8
    Final departure

    Our 8 Days Gosainkunda Lake trek comes to an end today. A representative from Thai Nepal Travels and Treks will take you to the airport approximately 2 hours before the scheduled flight. Important Note:

Your safety is of paramount concern while traveling with THAI NEPAL TRAVEL AND TREKS. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary; however, since this adventure entails traveling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we will not deviate from it. Weather conditions, the health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required.

For the person who cannot continue trek until the end of trekking in case of any reason, he/she please note that there will be no refund. In case of the flight delay/cancellation after finishing of the trek, you will be responsible for all your expenses. Please also note that you will not be entitled to any refund for the services (such as hotel, transport, flight, etc.) included in the package that you would not use later.

For all accommodations at Langtang trek are in local lodges on a twin, triple or four-bed sharing basis. If we prefer a single room, we may indicate our preference and get single rooms on request by paying the single supplement. However, there are several places that do not allow single accommodations in the Langtang.

 

Accommodations

We will be providing you at Hotel Marshyangdi or equivalent in Kathmandu and teahouses during the trek. All accommodations are on a twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional.

Meals

During the trek, you can enjoy authentic Nepalese food as well the more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.). Breakfast and dinner will be served from the tea-houses or from a lodge menu where we spend the night whereas lunch will be served on the way to the next destination. All meals will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available while in Kathmandu. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners for guests.
