Trip Introduction

Mt. Annapurna l (8,091m) is the 10th highest mountain in the world and the journey to its base camp is one of the most popular treks on earth. Like any other trip in the Annapurna region. It lies on the hill of Annapurna south. The route is specially designed for those trekkers who love to enjoy the flora and fauna and panoramic view of the Himalayan range. The trail of this trek is designed for trekkers who wish to reach the Annapurna base camp in a relaxed manner with visits to World Heritage Sites and Poon Hill. The trek is easy and much romantic walking through the beautiful villages. It is a relatively easy walk meandering through villages and rhododendron forests

Outline itinerary

Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m)

Day 02:Fly to Pokhara (914m) 30 minutes, drive to Hile 3 hours and trek to Ulleri 2050 m 2-3 hours.

Day 03:Ghorepani (2,750 m): 4 - 5 hours trek

Day 04:Tadapani (2,700m) with a visit to Poon Hill (3,210m): 6 - 7 hours

Day 05:Chhomrong (1,920 m) 5-6 hours

Day 06:Dovan (2,5440m): 4-5 hours

Day 07:Deurali 3210: 4 - 5 hours

Day 08:Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m): 5- 6 hours

Day 09:Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo: 7 – 8 hours

Day 10:Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1,760m) and Pokhara: 3-4 hours trek and 2 hours drive to Pokhara

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 1
    Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m)

    Upon your arrival at the Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Thai Nepal Travels. After picking up your luggage and look for our representative with a Thai Nepal Travels display board at the arrival gate. After that, you will be transferred to Hotel. After check-in, you can take a rest, hang around in the city - it all depends upon your interests and condition. In the evening we will organize a "Welcome Dinner" at an excellent traditional Nepalese Restaurant where you will enjoy Nepalese cultural programs as well as a fine meal.

  • Day 2
    Fly to Pokhara (914m) 30 minutes, drive to Hile 3 hours and trek to Ulleri 2050 m 2-3 hours.

    Today after breakfast in the early morning we fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (914m.) take about 30 minutes. Pokhara is 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu it is tourist's paradise with full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites. After reaching to Pokhara we drive to Hile for 3 hours and trek to Ulleri 2050 m 2-3 hours. Overnight in Ulleri.

  • Day 3
    Ghorepani (2,750 m): 4 - 5 hours trek

    Today we make our ascent to the Ghorepani village. The name of Ghorepani in Nepali means horse-water owing to its role as an important campsite for traders before it became a trekker's stop.

    A strenuous day today as we climb 3300 stone steps to Ulleri, from here we will have magnificent views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli, later in the trek we will also see Fishtail Mountain. After you have conquered the thousands of steps, the trail becomes easier as we pass Banthati and walk through the rhododendron forest overnight at a tea house at Ghorepani.

  • Day 4
    Tadapani (2,700m) with a visit to Poon Hill (3,210m): 6 - 7 hours

    We make an early morning climb along the steep trail to the viewpoint of Poon Hill (3,210m). The Poon hill will reward you with spectacular sunrise views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Take time here to soak up the tranquil atmosphere. We return back to Ghorepani.

    Upon breakfast, we head east to Tadapani through pine and rhododendron forests to reach Tadapani for overnight in teahouse here.

  • Day 5
    Chhomrong (1,920 m) 5-6 hours

    Dropping down from Tadapani Gurjung the route offers good views of the upper Modi valley. The path then starts the long ascent high above the west bank of the Modi Khola. We then arrive in the village of Chomrong is the last permanent settlement in the valley. On the way, we can enjoy great views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchhre), and Ganggapurna. Overnight in Chhorong.

  • Day 6
    Dovan (2,5440m): 4-5 hours

    Today after breakfast we follow the trail down to Chomrong Khola on steep stones. The path then starts the long ascent high above the west bank of the Modi Khola. We walk past Next, it’s a steep descent that takes us to the Kimrong Khola. After another steep ascent from Kimrong Khola to Chere Danda, we descend for a while then it’s a gentle walk to Upper Sinuwa is a beautiful village located on the lap of the giant Annapurna massive. Then the path starts to go up through the bamboo, oak, and rhododendron forests. we continue our trek pass through rhododendron forest to Kuldi (2,470m). We are continues onto Bamboo (2,310m) through an uninhabited forest area, scattered with big rocks. continue our trek to Dovan at the gateway to the sanctuary. From Bamboo, the road will take us through bamboo and rhododendron forests to Dovan (2,5440m).

  • Day 7
    Deurali 3210: 4 - 5 hours

    Today after breakfast we climbing 300 meters up we will first place the Himalayan Hotel at 2840 meters. We reach Himalayan and continue our walk we reach Hinko Cave (3100m) and then onto Deurali. During the day if we are lucky we can see interesting wildlife like deer, jackals, and peacocks. Here we will also have great views of Machhapuchhare Mountain (6997m). We stay overnight in Deurali.

  • Day 8
    Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m): 5- 6 hours

    Today we climb gently through a river bed then over a steep trail over to the mountainside. The hike from Bagar to Machhapuchhre Base Camp is somewhat strenuous. From Machhapuchhre base camp, we get excellent views of the majestic Machhapuchhre along with Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharvachuli, and Gangapurna which is certainly a rewarding experience.

    The vegetation disappears on our way to ABC and the path widens as we enter the Annapurna sanctuary. From here, we get sensational views of the near-vertical south face of Annapurna towering above us. The sanctuary boasts of a dynamic view without anything impeding the 360-degree panorama. From the base camp, we again get to savor mesmerizing views of the Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, and other peaks. Overnight at Annapurna Base Camp.

  • Day 9
    Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo: 7 – 8 hours

    Today we follow our way back to Bamboo, the trek is downhill, so it shouldn’t be very difficult we descend most part of our route to Bamboo. We are overnight at Bamboo.

  • Day 10
    Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1,760m) and Pokhara: 3-4 hours trek and 2 hours drive to Pokhara

    From Bamboo, it is an uphill trek to Kuldighar followed by a downhill walk to Chhomrong Khola. Then we climb the stone steps to Chhomrong.

    The trail then descends to Jhinu Danda, where we will be resting for the night. Today we will have an opportunity to enjoy the hot springs which are just a 15-20 minute downhill walk from Jhinu Danda to soothe our aching bodies. We have lunch and after that we take a private jeep to Pokhara today we overnight in Pokhara.

  • Day 11
    Fly to Kathmandu

    In the morning, you will be transferred to the domestic airport and fly to Kathmandu, take a spectacular 40-minute flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu transfer to the Hotel.

    We can take a rest or do some souvenir shopping. If we want to explore any other areas of Kathmandu, we may do that today. In the evening, there will be a farewell dinner hosted by Thai Nepal Travels to celebrate the successful completion of our trip. Overnight in Kathmandu.

  • Day 12
    Final Departure

    Our 13 Days Annapurna Base Camp via Poon Hill in Nepal come to an end today. A representative from Thai Nepal Travels and Treks will take you to the airport approximately 2 hours before the scheduled flight.

Important Note:

Your safety is of paramount concern while traveling with THAI NEPAL TRAVELS AND TREKS. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary; however, since this adventure entails traveling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we will not deviate from it. Weather conditions, the health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required.

For the person who cannot continue trek until the end of trekking in case of any reason, he/she please note that there will be no refund. In case of the flight delay/cancellation after finishing of the trek, you will be responsible for all your expenses. Please also note that you will not be entitled to any refund for the services (such as hotel, transport, flight, etc.) included in the package that you would not use later.

For all accommodations at Annapurna base camp trek are in local lodges on a twin, triple or four-bed sharing basis. If we prefer a single room, we may indicate our preference and get single rooms on request by paying a single supplement. However, there are several places that do not allow single accommodations in the Annapurna base camp.

 

Accommodations

We will be providing you at Hotel Marshyangdi or equivalent in Kathmandu, Hotel Crystal Palace or equivalent in Pokhara and teahouses during the trek. All accommodations are on a twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional.

Meals

During the trek, you can enjoy authentic Nepalese food as well the more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.). Breakfast and dinner will be served from the tea-houses or from a lodge menu where we spend the night whereas lunch will be served on the way to the next destination. All meals will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available while in Kathmandu and Pokhara. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners for guests.
