Trip Introduction

This trek is combining of Everest Base Camp with Island Peak Base Camp. For this route you will cross Kongma La (5,535) it is one of the most challenging pass and includes two peak climb Chhukung Ri (5,546m) and Kala Patthar (5,545m). Island peak is a mountain in Sagarmatha National Park of the Himalayas of eastern Nepal. The mountain was named "Island Peak" in 1952 AD by Eric Shipton's party since it appears as an island in a sea of ice when viewed from Dingboche. The peak was later renamed in 1983 to Imja Tse though its original name is still more popular. Island Peak has an impressive highly glaciated west face that rises from the Lhotse Glacier which is a bit tough to do, however the magnificent views from the summit are certainly a fitting reward for our efforts.

We will do our best to avoid such delays, and arrange the next flight for you. We suggest you be prepared for possible delays/cancellations, and if possible to come with some extra buffer days (1-2 days) at the end of the trip to accommodate such delays. If everything runs smoothly and you still have a few days of your buffer days left then you may even engage yourself in optional activities which can be arranged by Thai Nepal tours upon request. The optional activities may include visiting places/landmarks of your choice, adventure sports, shopping, etc.

If you are not interested in the alternative trip and would rather wait for your original preferred trip, you are welcome to wait in Kathmandu for as many days as it takes to get a flight to Lukla.
